Explanation of terms and wording
Caboolture Rugby Union Club Inc (CRUC) is a member of The Sunshine Coast Rugby Union (SRU) and the Brisbane Junior Rugby Association- both are incorporated. Caboolture Rugby Union Club is bound by the laws and conditions of the SRU & BJRU. CRUC and its members must also comply with the terms and conditions including any codes of conduct of the SRU, BJRU or its parent bodies, i.e. QRU & ARU. In no way does this document supersede the codes of conduct of CRUC bodies.
Player. A registered senior/junior player of CRUC.
Official. A registered member acting in the role of a coach, assistant coach, team manager, strapper, medical assistant, water carrier of fulfilling the role of a match official.
Committee Member. A member of CRUC elected at an AGM, specially convened meeting or appointed to a vacant committee position by the committee.
Match Official. A Referee appointed to officiate at a match as either a referee, touch judge or referee assessor. A Match Official may also be a member of CRUC or any other club, appointed by a club to fulfill the role of a referee or touch judge.
Registration. All people seeking to play rugby with CRUC must be registered to play with CRUC via the relevant completed registration form.
Club Executive. Shall mean the President, Vice President/s and Treasurer of the Club. Financial. All registered players of CRUC must pay all subscription fees set by the committee. All fees are due by the date set by the committee.
Code of Conduct. This is a document stating what players and members of CRUC can reasonably expect from the committee in the execution of their duty to CRUC members. It also states what is a minimum expectation of the individual player and or member, in respects to behavior, attendance, adherence to committee decisions and fulfillment of duties as decided by the committee. It in no way negates any federal, state, local or parent union laws or reasonable expectations.
Caboolture Rugby Union Club Committee and Coaching Staff
The committee shall expect that a senior player will;
- Pay all fees and monies owing by the date stated in the minutes of CRUC (unless otherwise agreed)
- Wear the club socks, shorts and jersey whilst playing for CRUC
- Reasonably carry out set up, pack up, cleaning, BBQ, water boy and Bar duties when either rostered to do so or if asked at any other time
- Not behave in a anti-social manner when either at CRUC grounds and facilities or when visiting another clubs grounds and facilities (including affiliated or parent clubs)
- At no time, physically or verbally, abuse, assault or intimidate a match official
- Not violate any laws whilst representing CRUC at any event
- Comply with all SRU, BJRU, QRU or ARU laws and any codes of conduct
- At all times protect and preserve the ground, facilities and assets of CRUC
- Play in whatever grade that a player is selected to play in
- Wherever possible, make themselves available to play in the next grade as a reserve
- To support all grades that play on the same oval during the same day
- To maintain current medical coverage either through Medicare, reciprocal health agreements or private medical insurance
- Not to behave in any manner that may reflect poorly upon CRUC as a whole or to the financial detriment of CRUC
- Use the club facilities in compliance with any lease, licensing laws, neighborhood agreements and terms issued by the committee
- Abide by any disciplinary decision decided upon by the committee for breach of the code of conduct subject to appeal
Caboolture Rugby Union Club Members
Financial Members and senior players of CRUC can reasonably expect that the committee and coaching staff shall ensure that;
- The Rugby club is run in a financially viable manner
- The facilities are as a minimum maintained in working order
- All insurances necessary are maintained on behalf of the members
- That all compliance lodgment is undertaken in relation to an incorporated body and member of SRU, BJRU, QRU & ARU
- All equipment necessary to train for and play Rugby Union is supplied
- Coaches and support staff with the necessary experience to coach at the appointed level are supplied
- That medical support staff are available during game day’s
- Players are coached in specific roles by coaches with relevant experience or accreditation.
- Specifically players playing as either a "prop" or "hooker" have access to coaching specific to those positions
- Club Officials ensure that water boys, runners, club appointed match officials and reserve players are available during the course of a game
- The facilities of the rugby club are made available to the members subject to the terms and conditions of any lease, licensing laws, neighborhood agreements, committee conditions or pre booked functions.
- The committee shall appoint at least one "Senior Players Representative and one Junior Players Representative" to act on behalf of the players wishes and sit on the committee
- They have recourse to appeal any disciplinary decision to a panel of past or present members to consist of the Club President, one member of the Club Executive, the senior player’s representative or coach and an available life member of the players choosing. In the case of an appeal, the Club President and member of the Club Executive should not both be drawn from senior or junior ranks i.e. if the Club President is drawn from senior ranks, then the member of the Club Executive should be a person drawn from junior ranks. This ensures that the interests of both the junior and senior club are appropriately represented in any appeal decision.
