The A Grade played the competition leaders, Noosa, on Saturday, going down 31 - 15. This game was billed as the game of the round by the Sunshine Coast Rugby Union after some very strong performances by our boys over the past few weeks and it lived up to its billing. Noosa scored an early try which brought the snakes to life and over the next 15 mins our boys stormed the Noosa line, from this pressure a penalty was awarded to our boys and Tom Aldridge slotted the goal. Noosa crossed the line again. With the score at 14- 3 it did not look good for the boys as all their efforts did not yield try. With halftime closing in our boys mounted another attack and from some enterprising work from Jay Forrester he crossed the line, the conversion was successful and the score ended 14-10 to Noosa at halftime. The second half started at the same pace as the first and Noosa crossed early and extend their score to 19. Once again the boys pressed but found the line elusive to cross. With some great defence from both side the game was turning into an arm-wrestle with both teams trying to take the ascendancy. Finally Noosa crossed the line extending their lead once again and once again the lads bounced back and Jay Forrester crossed again for his second try with an unsuccessful conversion attempt, this brought the score to 24-15 in Noosa's favour. Not to be finished and with fulltime closing the Caboolture team continued to press the opposition line to try and pick up another try to allow them a bonus point for the game. Unfortunately Noosa swept on a loose ball and managed to work themselves into a position to score another try right in the full time bell. The end score was 31-15. It was a great effort for the boys against the undefeated Noosa side who have not had their line crossed over the previous four weeks. Next week the boys play Gympie at Gympie and are still pressing for that elusive fourth spot on the ladder.

B Grade
The B's went down to Noosa 41-10 on the weekend, this was a better result than their previous encounter in the first round when they went down by a much larger margin. Numbers are still good and skill levels are improving, little steps that they are taking at the moment will lead to better things next year.

Women
The girls played the top women's team on Saturday; again the game was played in 2 halves. University scored 17 unanswered points in the first half. This was a disappointing effort from the girls as they knew what they had to do but started the game very slowly and let the Uni team get away. The second half however was a different tale, after the break the girls hit their straps and scored 2 tries one by Vanessa Williams and the other by Sharna McInnes with Kate Manning converting one of the tries. Uni failed to register a point in the second half and the score ended 17 - 15. Our boys retain 2nd spot in the ladder with Uni still hold 1st place. The girls have a bye this week and play Uni again on the 30 July at Uni. If the girls want to retain second place they need to come away with a win over Uni in the next 2 weeks to stop the fast finishing Caloundra bumping them down the ladder.
