Andy's Mail 22 July 2010

Another hectic week of our great game.

The Seniors going down to unbeaten Noosa but scoring a couple of great tries, a major feat if you look at Noosa's stats. Going to be tough making the finals but am sure the boys will be putting in 110% to try and make it.

Another awesome display by the All Blacks again, we just need the Wallabies to notch a win on the weekend to set up a great Bledisloe series. Mealamu is showing us that good front rowers do mature with age. I know he comes from Auckland but I am sure there is Nga Tahu blood running through his veins.

A big day at the club on Sunday hosting the under 13 trials. Special thanks to everyone who came along to help especially Tom, Chris and young Blayne from the Seniors. Great to see Tom, totally fearless on the field poohing himself serving a cup of chips.

One point I have to make. I arrived at 5.30 am to set the fields and rope them off. Lo and behold no rope. People or person if I find you I will deal with you myself. Promise.
Going back to Sunday and the Senior boys helping out. I am right now now watching Audo (Tom, our club captain, can't figure his nickname, still trying to figure out why people call me D.H) answering a mayday call to help coach our under 17s.

These senior guys love their team and club with a passion and our junior members need as much exposure to them as they can get so let's try and get along to their games as much as possible.

Congratulations to our rep trialists in the 13, 14s and 15s. Noah Lavea and Kerrod Johnson made the 13s squad, with Dalton Magin making it as a shadow player in U13's as well. Jeremy Stevens made the under 15 team. I think you were hard done by Mitch. And I know Noah's rugby has been improving since I started giving him my old issues of NZ Rugby Week, it is mostly about Canterbury players.

Now I have to comment on a couple of teams' parents behaviour last weekend. I know I have spoken of this before. Last Friday night the Referee was given a very hard time by a few. We are not over endowed with Refs and I know I would not have put up with it. If we don't have a Ref we don't have a game. It's that simple. I am not going to go on again about the messages it is sending our boys but if it happens again you will be asked to leave the grounds.

And then on Sunday at Everton Park the same thing happens. I am sure you have all come across perceived prejudices about our country hick ways at Caboolture. Don't let those views become a reality. Sideline coaching by coaches or parents is not to be done. Good play by both sides should be applauded. AND absolutely no slagging of the Referee. We are here to support and encourage our kids, not to get our own needs met. I don't want to be explaining our parents behaviour to the BJRU.

Time to start thinking about our junior Presentation Day. If you have any ideas give me a call. Fireworks are out by Council decree.
See you all Friday night
