Caboolture v Caloundra at Caloundra

The Snakes started the game on fire even though we were missing 5 through injury and 2 absences. The Forwards contested very well at the breakdown, with James Beanbag Crowther, pinching a truckload of opposition ball. The Scrum punched well above their weight, against a much larger Caloundra pack. This platform setup a great try for Captain Joseph Keith. The Loosies were excellent in defence and covered territory very well. Our Backs piled the pressure on the Caloundra fullback forcing a few mistakes.

A momentary lapse of concentration after a penalty 5m out, and some missed tackles on the big princess saw Caloundra go up 12-5 at half time. Unfortunately, halfway into the second half, as we were gaining ascendancy in the match, a fight erupted involving most players from both sides, with 3 of our players sent from the field. Valiantly, with only 12 men, the snakes battled on to go down only 22-5. 3 points to Tobias Wilson, who played an excellent game out of position at fullback. 2 points to Sean Fordyce who made some fantastic breaks around the ruck.1 point to James Beanbag Crowther who was everywhere.Have a good break guys, stay fit, and see you back at training on July 12.

We may run a fitness session every Wednesday night for an hour at 6.30pm , please sms Belinda if you are keen.

Cheers

A good home win for the boys, it was a game of hard tackling and great to watch. This was the last game for one of the boys Joshua who unfortunatley is moving away, many thanks for all his hard work and dedication to the team. In his last game he took the field, as always, switched on and focussed. He played a strong game of footy, and fittingly celebrated his last game with a try. Cory, Mitchell and Justin also crossed the line. Noah added the conversions. Jordan performed honourably as captain on the day.

Well done boys!
