Seniors Match reports

The A grade really stepped up on Saturday taking the three time premiers out to the final minutes before University kicked the winning goal to take the game. The A's, fielding a makeshift pack due to injuries and players unavailable, played their hearts out and mixed it well with the much more fancied Uni forwards. Built on this effort the backs weaved their magic with Jay Forrester crossong the line three times. Two of these tries came from some excellent combination between Tane Keil and Jay totally confusing the Uni outside backs who were grasping the air as they ran by.

With 5 minutes to go the boys held the lead, and looked the better team, but all credit to Uni as they stuck to their task and we conceded 2 peanalties in front of the posts giving them a 5 point win. Uni are a class outfit and it easy to see why they have won the premiership for the last 3 years, they are did not lose their composure and continued to chip away to graft a win. Caboolture needs to learn from this game and build on it to convert the close losses to memorable wins.

Uni 35 - Cab 31

B Grade

The B's did not fair so well going down 60-Nil, numbers were down this weekend with key players playing A grade and some not showing up. They stuck at their task but the last 10 mins saw an avalanche of tries that blew the score outif the water.

Women

The girls went down to Uni 25-5 on the weekend, it was a fair effort against a very strong Uni side that is unbeaten so far this season. Lack of fitness was our biggest hurdle as the girls faded in the secon half after holding Uni to 5- nil at half time. Better things to come.
